Not entirly true , ask some of the KG III guys, if the floor is rusted thru (like my 343) then get some steel sheet (I used a subaru hood) stailess would be good but is hard to shape/braze . Make a template of your floor and cut out of sheet metal leaving pieces of 3-4cm to be bent uowards at 90deg. Fit tightly in from the top , so that putting weight on the sheet press' down and better into place. I filled between original and sheet with silicon, press into place ,braze( rather than weld) and after cooling seal from top with silicon. Finish by painting Hammerite or any good anti-corrosive on. Don't forget to fill holes from bottom with putty and paint over with undercarrige paint. I underneath and behind both seats and under one side of back seat, so far ,fine. If you want it enough NOTHING is impossible to salvage. herman '69 343 -----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> To: type3@vwtype3.org <type3@vwtype3.org> Date: ŽŒ’ ¿ˆŒ• 13 ŽŒÝŽ 1999 06:56 Subject: Re: [T3] Should I buy this T3? If the windshield has been missing for a long time,à|gas collected on the floor, rusted through, and the car is shot.
