    Several months ago I discovered and asked the list about the same thing.
There was only one spring in the bottom of my 009 distributor.
    There really wasn't a consensus whether there should have been two or not.
I guess it just varies from one model to the next.  The key thing is to find a
way to check the total advance when revved up (no more that 30 deg. I think).
