Yes, I know it was like swearing in church, and I agree that what I suggested is a quick-and-dirty solution, but I assumed that poor Carl was more interested in a repair that wasn't too expensive and could be carried out reasonably quick, as he seems to need his fasty for his daily transportation. Of course a total rebuild would be better (if that even is possible - the symptoms was indicating serious disaster, I think) or get another T3 tranny, but I guess they aren't easy to find. Or assemble a hybrid from a T1 tranny with the final gear from the T3 box, if it is undamaged.
