The long tube does lengthen the response time so that you will not see very quick pressure peaks or valleys, but it does not affect accuracy. You will get the best results if you "bleed" the line so that it contains only oil, no air. I used one of these for many years and found it to be fine, until it broke and filled my battery compartment with oil.
