West Coast Metric has many weather-strip rubbers for Type 3's, including
Fastback, Notchbacks, and Type 34's. Order a wholesale distributor catalog to
get the straight skinny. Sometimes, you have to use a "like-part" and make
it fit. The Notchback, for example, has rubÊsJñdily available. What I
found on a Type 34 was that the regular Type 1 Ghia rubber fits perfectly,
even though the shape of the quarter-windows is different
between Type 1 and Type 34 Ghias. If you have to make a weather-strip rubber
fit, but the
American style rubber from a similar car and cut it and use Zep's quick grip
adhesive. Zep's
requires refrigeration when not in use, but it's good for splicing.

Hey ya'll! I was wondering if the chromed plastic window trim (that
comes in a roll) is a feasable replacement for the original aluminum
weatherstrip trim? Will it work on any grooved weatherstrip, or just
certain years/styles/types?

Lack of trim is the only thing that is preventing me from installing my
pop-out seals.

Thanks,
