I finally got a chance to work on Phillip after 4 months delay, and I found the carb problem by accident. The reason one Solex was just dribbling the gas undÀsgåleration" was not the diaphragm or tube plugged or some other overhaul worthy event. The linkage to the accel. pump arm had lost a cotter pin and washer! 10 cents later, no more problems! Also, I would like to thank whomever suggested the 2" rubber plumbing joint to lay the Uni-Syn carb balancer on. It worked like a charm. I have a question on balancing flow and setting idle etc.: Muir suggests turning the idle air screws "tiny amounts" until the RPM's start to drop. The only change I get is with large amounts, like 1 full turn. Is that normal? One more question. The carb gas inlet pipe pulled out when I replaced the fuel line. I used Loctite and replaced, but this worries me. What is the proper way to fix this? Knurl the brass tube and repress?
