Most of the time it will be fine, especially if you use a wide piece of wook there, but it is just a flat cast magnesium floor with no internal supports across its full width. It is plenty strong enough to support the full weight of the engine, but I worry about lifting the car that way. If it gave way you'd be truly hosed. On the late IRS years, lifting from the engine puts the rear engine mount hangers under compression rather than tension and I have seen the rubber mounts fail under this force. What it boils down to is that it was not designed to carry this load and the consequences of a failure are extreme, so why tempt fate?
