Basically, there's a switch up front, a relay under the rear seat and the defroster grid, which is usually bad. Circuit details in Bentley. The grid consisted of a number of lines of conductive coating on the surface of the glass, time and multiple cleanings have removed any trace of conductivity by now. I've tried repainting the lines using some conductive circuit repair coating, no luck, not enough conductivity unless I paint the whole window. I'm now looking at a kit that J.C. Whitney has that has self-adhesive copper foil elements that can be cut to size and stuck on the glass. Have held off due to hatch repainting and other things, might be looking at doing it pretty soon. The current plan is to remove all the traces of the old grid by whatever means that works, solvents or scraping, then ²_ñ›the new copper traces to the original connectors on the sides of the glass. Might or might not work, will have to see.
