I never consider a 914 a Type 4 car! Both are separate designations that have major distinctions to me. Besides, the 914 uses a stock five-speed Porsche tranny :) I can't remember the exact number but I've seen 2-3 running with manual trannies and a couple in junkyards (southern Oregon when I was in college). I did see a couple T4s in a Washington junkyard and they were automatics. Come to think of it, I can't be positive if the manual trannies in the cars that were rumę«³-re actual T4 or T1 conversions...
