PeterP=> I don't see how the new tin will seal off this area. Sorry, I assumed you'd got the dual-port tin. There's a sort of eyeglass-shaped piece that fills in around the holes and manifold, plus an extremely rare piece (I've yet to see one in person) that fills in just under the manifold. (I see Jake has already answered this.) These go on after the engine is in the car and you've put the manifolds on. Something else occurs to me: the dual-ports take a smaller balance tube. I ran large fuel hose through my SP tube to connect the nipples on the DP manifolds. My mechanic thought I wuz nutz, but it makes a much cleaner installation than plain hose snaking across the top of the case. IMHO.
