[T3] customizing\personalizing

  Hi all,
Since I had to put my fasty up for the winter,(building a house) I am jotting down all kinds of
ideas for changes that I want to make to my VW. I am all for "preservation of the breed" and
strictly stock restorations. My dilemma is that mine is in such a condition that I cant decide
whether or not to restore. The "Best Square in the world" is certainly impressive ,as is the
Fye's roadster. I really like the work that is done and that it is done well. But it is all
subjective. For My 2 cents worth, I owned the "Best Squareback in the world". My old reliable
71. It had non-stock metallic blue paint ,primer grey wheels and a 35 buck stereo. It was the
best car that I owned and if I had known anything about rust-slowing I might still have it.
My point is that the way things are is "to each his own" and we have to find beauty where
we can. If it is too far gone for a reasonable restoration, go ahead and plunge headlong in to
the "dark side". But maybe if you have a specimen that is not too far gone in the rust
department ,maybe you might consider a nice restoration or find someone that can do one for
you ( my present dilemma),or buy/trade with someone for a "beater" to really trick out, or
better yet a daily driver. We can all use more daily drivers!

I think that we need to keep T3s on the roads and in the shows (and I guess the museums, too) I
think that this might be the best way to "preserve the Breed"

I'll shut up now...
