Stand on your head on the gas pedal with a 10mm (come on, memory!) socket on a loooong extension and remove the 4 bolts holding it in place. The tubes leading off to the defroster vents and the dash vents can come off before or during the extraction. I did mine before, made it a bit easier to manuver everything else out of the way. The cables will have to come off of your vent knob controls. I think they were something like a 8mm screw that can be removed allowing the cables to be lifted off of the little posts that they hook onto. The glovebox may be removed for easier access to the cable ends. You may want some safety glasses before you find out the hard way how much dust and garbage is hiding on top of the airbox and the vent hoses. Keep some peßCÑhandy while disconnecting everything - lots of things may be brittle with age.
