my brother (Carl) was awoken at 4 AM Saturday morning by a phone call. it was 911 and they told him his car was stolen and found in a neiborhood 10 miles away. the 911 operator him that he and another licensed driver had to come pick it up. on the way over Carl was thinking the worst, and that is exactly what he found. the front end was completely trashed. since they didn't have a key the steering was locked so they tied the cars together real close, from their bumper to my brothers right nerf bar. they let the e-brake down but the shifter is so sloppy they thought it was in neutral but was really in second gear. Then they were off. the cars were tied so close together that every time they made a turn, the rear bumper of their 80's Chevy Caprice put huge dents in the fenders and hood. they made so sharp of a left turn it pushed the right fender onto the tire and then went on the inside of the tire. when you look at it the front of the car, the driverside looks like a baja and the other side looks like a f@#ked up wrecked cal looker. The fenders hood and front clip are beyond repair and will have to be replaced. the front suspension also took a beating. not to mention the damage they did to the engine and clutch when they towed it in gear. can we say lawsuit. there is over $3k in damage and who knows how much labor it will take to fix. the culprit doesn't have a drivers licensee, was drunk, and stole his brothers Caprice to steal the car. my brother is real lucky that the idiot was caught and the tow rope didn't snap along the way and his car roll down a hill with no one to blame. it would have been cheaper for the suspect to buy a junkyard bug and fix it up than to pay for all the damage he did along the way by stealing one. another one for the story books. i know this is not of type Ódtent but i figured you would like a good laugh. Does anyone know a good company to buy a 1776 long block, my brother would appreciate it. jimi polivka '73 squareback '59 single cab carl polivka '70 beetle '67 beetle '73 thing ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
