I would not -- could not -- share this with strangers, but I feel that so many on the T3 list are dear friends -- although, alas, friends whom I may never get to meet -- that I need to pour out my heart. Last night my wife was driving home after dark in our pickup when she collided with a horse on the highway. The horse flipped up and landed on the cab, crushing it totally in. Today I looked at the pickup without understanding how any person could have survived such an impact. I have been given the greatest blessing any person could ever receive. My wife--friend, lover, helpmate, soul, chief nagger, inspiration--will recover and be in my life for years to come. For all the damage to the vehicle, her injuries were not nearly as severe as could have been. She will soon again be (quite properly) scolding and guiding me through the missteps of my errant ways. Friends, please turn to that Special Person in your life and reaffirm how much she/he means to you. None of us knows how fragile or tenuous that precious life can be. Please forgive the maudlin ramblings of an old man. You never know how important something is until it has almost been taken fr6H.
