How would that cause it to throw gas?
I'm assuming that a loose electrical plug on an injector would just not give
any gas to that cylinder... or is that what causes the other cylinders to
misbehave and spill gas?

As I understand it, that switch gets used by the automatic tranny to kick
down one gear when you slam the gas.
