>From Chris: >Does anyone have any info on shifting from fuel injection to Carbs on a >'71 Fastback. I found a kit for $400. Is it worth it? Is it hard to >do the swap? I did the swap on a '71 Square, using Weber ICT-34 dual carbs. Hard? Uh, not too much, except that getting the linkage adjusted right took a lot of back-and-forthing and experimentation and the forcing down of several beers. Once all was dialed in, they (the carbs, not the beers) have been trouble free. You can buy carburetors, but as for the beers, you can only rentdIôif you catch my meaning. Don't know what "kit" you have found, but I know the Webers came complete with all the linkages, air filters, etc. That is absolutely essential in this project. You have to figure out what to do with all those left-over wires that will be lying around in the engine compartment. And you will NEVER be able to face real T3 afficionados again after they learn you have --- gasp! -- carbs! You have heard of the Dark Side? Well, going to carbs will put you in the Scarlet Letter category. I welcome you to the Tomb of the Undead...
