Two of 'em, actually. The one is a '73 squareback, all stock except for a set of eight spokes and empi shifter (and these items will not be on it for long). The other is a rusted out '70? fastback for parts. I'm not new to aircooled VWs, but I'm sure to have many questions in the future. For now, I have two questions. First, I want to know if the windshields of these two cars are the same. Can anyone confirm or confute my surmise that I can make this swap? Second, I found information in the archive to the effect that the offset on the stock 4 1/2 J X 15 steel wheels is 42mm. Does anyone know if that is true for all the years, or if not, which years have which offset? (The wheel offset question is a priority as I need to get some wheels with tires on the squareback so I can make it roll and get it to my home. By the way, if anyone has need of any body parts from the fastback that I will NOT be able to use (because not compatible with the squareback), please let me know pronto, as I will be scrapping it starting tomorrow and plan to have the carcass hauled away Monday. I'll be stripping off all the removable parts, but won't be taking any clips unless there's some particular need. I'm in Baltimore; if you are nearby, please feel free to drop me a line. Eric Forsman '74 standard beetle, two '71 buses, '74 camperbus, '73 squareback, and, for a day or two, a '70 fastback. -------÷£"æ---------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
