It is also possible to drill out the old holes for 11/32" dowels, or to do both. In either case, this‡’o be done carefully, and I would not want to do it without a complete engine teardown. This is NOT a job for a hand drill. It must be done carefully. The holes MUST be drilled undersized first and then reamed very slightly undersize to be a snug fit on the new dowels. Yes, there is a special pilot for this. $100 seems like a lot if all he is doing is making 4 careful holes and providing 4 dowels. It seems like too little if that includes the price of the dis-assembly of the engine.
