 Hola Phil,

Just wanted to add my opinion to your conundrum. If I were to park like that often (which I don't), I would leave the tranny in neutral and the brake set. The minute damage to the tires/brakes should it be hit and happen to slide is less tha'Uï¨tential damage to the gears and other sundry but important parts in said transmission. There is usually enough earl and/or other slickery stuff in parking spots to aid in the sliding act, but I would rather deal with broke brake parts than broke tranny
parts (if anything SHOULD break).

Another thing to do would be to leave the car in gear AND set the brake. That way, should it be hit, the locked brakes will (hopefully) keep the tranny from trying to spin with no motivation from the pancake.

Again, just my opinion.
