Hi Volks- My 68 Square is all painted, beaded and 80% reassembled (!! looks brilliant, IMHO :) and now I'm dealing with the finishing touches (headliner, glass, seals). I wasn't able to get the "American" popout seals for the rear passenger windows, so I bought the nonpopout seals and decided to give up on the popout scene. My question is this: How do I go about fitting the popout glass w/ the non-popout seals? Is it just a matter of removing the chrome popout housing and fitting the nonpopout rubber on the glass, or do I have to have new glass custom cut for the non popouts? I have 2 sets of popout glass, so if it's possible to reuse those I would love to go that route and save the money. Otherwise I guess I'll have to shell out the dough, and this job is already WAAAY over budget!!!! Still, I don't want to cut corners here at the end, so I would appreciate some advide from anyone willing to enlighten me. (Oh, if I do have to cut new glass, is anyone aware of the required measurements? I know that is asking a bit much, but I've noticed some of y'all have great recall w/ minute detailsPQ]igure it's worth a shot! ;) TIA!! Dave Y. 68 Sqbk PS After calling around and comparatively shopping for a new front windshield I worked the local Bay Area glass shops down to $70! I thought it was going to be much more for new front glass. Guess there are still some deals out there...! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
