It shouldn't do this. Check to make sure that your generator brushes 
aren't worn out: the ends of the brushes should stick up above the 
top of the guide sleeve that the brush sits in.

It sees most likely that your voltage regulator is dying. I recommend 
a geniune Bosch replacement.
