Listees, The great fuel injection hose fiasco continues.... I found out yesterday that the hose that the distributor recommended to me is not rated for gasoline use. Now I know why I like to get manufacturer's catalogs so I can check the specs myself. That hose would have been nice, because it was a bit smaller on the OD and even stronger than what I had been using. BTW, along the way I discovered that my memory had been failing me again when I said that ALL 5/16" hose was rated for 400 psi. I have to sheepishly admit that the stuff I have been using for years is only rated for 50 psi working pressure, 250 psi minimum burst. Okay, I say. I can always go back to the very nice stuff I had been using. Oops, Whadaya mean, "It's discontinued?" !!! What about Manufacturer #3? They make gas hose don't they. Well, the answer is yes, but it only comes on 25' spools. If I sell 20' at a time I don't get much of a discount AND I have a lot of waste. [The other stuff was available in 100' and 300' rolls.] So now I'm back to manufacturer #2, which I have not been able to find any firm info on yet.... I'll keep checking. Sorry, but things are postponed. Well, at least I now know how many feet we need for a car. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
