Fellow listees, I have a former customer who now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico who needs D-Jetronic FI help with his 914. I'm too far away to help in person, and he is not technically capable enough for me to do him much good over the phone, although I have tried. His car runs, and I suspect the problem is rather simple, he has just not been able to find anyone in the area who has any solution to offer other than to put carbs on it and get "a lotta gas" into the engine. Unfortunately this misses the point because it is running excessively rich already. The car runs, but not consistently well, still he could easily drive it a few hours in any direction where there was some promise of knowledgable assistance. He would be happy to pay reasonably for the help. The guy is a bit of a flake, but he is genuinely good person, just a bit misguided, so I can assure you that he is benign, and you MAY find him interesting. His special interest is in those off-the-wall, unscientific, health food supplements. If there is anyone within 3 hours or so of Santa Fe that would be willing to work with him, please contact me and I will try to get the 2 of you in touch with each other.
