Brits don't make Blaupunkt - they are German (it means Blue Spot). I assume the FM is that way since wavelength increases that way, but I don't think anyone has ever used the wavelength to identify FM stations, which probably is the reason for most radios these days having frequency increasing from left to right. I think there's a technical reason to do with using the same tuning capacitor for all wavebands, so they all have to have the tuned frequency increasing in the same direction for all bands. I guess the SW is in kilocycles or kiloHertz (kc/s or kHz) while the AM (MW?) is in metres. Dave.
