In making the engine compartment ready for my rebuilt stock motor (Toby and Brian: It's got a forged counterweighted crank and an orange-painted coil!), I found two white wires crimped into a single spade connector. This wire set goes through a hole in the firewall. They are on the right side of the engine compartment and if stretched out would appear to go to one of the two spades on the starter. Other white wires with spade connectors go to grounds on the motor. To my recollection, I did not disconnect these mystery wires when pulling the engine or the transaxle (starter attached). The car functioned before all of this refurbishing, most likely with these wires disconnected. Any clues out there as to where these terminate? Something tells me that it is not at the starter as the wiring diagram shows only the ignition lead at the starter spade connection. The wires look "factory" , not a hash job by the PO, as they split off the bundle that goes to right side engine elUċ h s. I marked all of the other wires with tape and their respective terminations. The three ground wires that go to the breather stand are all present and accounted for. Any clues? p.s. For those of you waiting in WCM door seals, I'm at six weeks and counting. RMMW just got a phone call for same.
