Stock twin vac dizzy on FI set-up does change its idle with hoses disconnected and plugged, in my experience ( U0502001 to U0507000). I don't know about the later single vac. Maybe Jim's reply is for a different engine; I've lost track of its origin. Dave. The first thing you will notice is that the timing at idle doesn't change (on FI cars), thus the insistence on removing the vacuum hose is pointless, in this case.
