Everybody here loves a puzzle, right? OK, I start up the Ghia and pull out into the street, headed into town. Within the first block the red light comes on. Hmm. I go around the block, and back uphill, the light is on full and steady. I pull back into the garage, rev it a little, no change. Shut off, check the generator belt and engine connections, no apparent problems. Pull the rear seat and look over the regulator: one of the globs of white goo is discolored, all the connections are clean and tight. I've got a new spare regulator, so I pop it in. Start up, light still on. Hmmm. Pull the generator, check the brushes, all looks good; the small terminal is turning in the case, I tighten it up a bit, put it back. Start up, light still on. Hmmmmm. Leave it idling, get out the voltmeter and check voltages at the coil. 12-14.5 volts, looks OK. Hmmm. I go to shut it off again and voila, the light is off! Test drive, all濐蕳 I fixed it, but I'm damned if I know how. Any ideas? I hate it when stuff like this happens.
