Re: Overheating '67

On the overheating '67.
Two things come to mind. Basic flooding, or a
more persistent overheating. I parked my '67 a
few years ago due to 'not running when hot" problems.
Various fiddling, timing, & adjusting failed to stop
the problem. A more definitive description of the
problem is that while driving, it just plain won't
go, feels like a clogged fuel filter, as in no
gas getting to the carbs.

The most (so far) plausible explanation is that the
fuel vaporizes in the fuel line due to heat in the
engine compartment and so no liquid fuel gets to
the carbs to keep it running.

The solution(s) I have heard about, but not tried,
include adding the original (hard to find) plastic
heat shield that goes around the toQÙ}ù fuel
pump, adding an electric fuel pump between the tank
and the mechanical pump (low pressure of course), and
and a second electric between the mechanical and the carbs. These are in order of severity. Anything
else?

What say ye?
