Hi,

I have a few questions. The ignition switch stopped working on my '65
awile ago. I quickly found out that those are 1) hard to find and 2)
expensive. I found one guy who says he can get me one for $250, but I'm
hesitant because, in college student terms, thats almost a whole
semester of books. Ouch.

Anyway, the problem with mine is in the mechanical part, which I hear is
not the norm. I took it to a locksmith, but he said the main cylinder
is cracked so it can't be repared. Anyway, I was thinking since it's
usually the electrical part that goes out (so I hear), could I swap my
working electrical contacts with those on one with working mechanics?
Has anyone ever done this? I do have plans to stick a relay in when I
get this all working again.

Second question: anyone have a switch with bum electrical contacts
they'd be willing to sell me? Alternatly, does anyone a working switch
they'ed be willing to sell for less the $250? What are they worth,
anyway?

Thanks in advance.
