þ±¨±at wasn't a bad promotion. I think I'm going to buy another T-3 now. Richard Steinburg Winnipeg, Man. ---------- From: Phil Dillard <dillard@suu.edu> To: molbloo@interport.net; type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] basic info on type 3 requested Date: Friday, April 09, 1999 3:37 PM >...a type3. And darn it, I want one. Good for you, Alissa! You will be joining a small group of "nuts" who love their T3s...Fastbacks, Squarebacks, Notchbacks... and who have learned that by involving themselves in the "care and feeding" of these unique vehicles, they have managed to keep them running reliably for 25, 30, 35 or more years, with the promise of many more years of service to come. I myself drive a '71 Squareback -- my chief source of transportation -- daily on a 20 mile round trip to work and back home. It is an attractive, comfortable, versatile automobile that I drive by choice, not necessity. Even at its age of 28 years, rarely does it fail me. And my experience is certainly not unique, but rather, I would guess, the norm. We whose cars give this reliable service have succeeded by learning about our cars and by doing much of the maintenance ourselves. Now, before you assume that all of us on this discussion list are guys, let me assure you that some of the group are of the feminine persuasion...and they can most assuredly hold their own in the T3 arena. I would guess that many of us started out knowing zilch about air-cooled VWs. The exist, however, ample avenues for you to learn, bit by bit, how to keep your T3 running...and running...and running. This T3 list is just one of many rich resources you can tap into. You will receive some excellent advice from the very knowledgeable volks who inhabit this discussion group. My purpose for writing was to encourage you by telling you that all of us were in your position one time or another...and look how far we have come now! Copious amounts, I am sure, of good advice will flow your way. So, having said what I wanted to say -- which is: atta g¹Ñ8?I will get out of the way. I hope you make your dream come to pass. Best wishes for an delightful T3 future... Phil dillard@suu.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
