I don't think the glove box lock was matched to the ignition; it's
not on my '73.  The key profile (grooves) doesn't even match.  Are
you missing the ignition key?  If the door locks are unchanged, the
number on the back of the handle casting (where the screw goes into
it from the door edge) will match the ignition.
