That sounds alot like the blue box that was in my families '73 Volvo
wagon. Dad bought the car new in Stuttgart (Germany). That box was in
there for the 18 years we owned the car, and never used!
P.S. That car was FI, and after a valve job at 100,000mi ran well 'till I
sold it at 185,000mi.
