I have a timing light, so that's why I was looking to time at 30 degrees BTDC at full advance. I suspect this would mean TDC or slightly after at idle. Steven says to go with TDC and hoses off, while a diagram sent by Dave Hall indicates hoses on - now I'm confused (also, as I mentioned in the original post, the vacuum retard was supposedly disconnected by the PO, which would probably affect a static reading at idle ???) BTW, the engine number starts with T07.., and the car is an automatic. Please help if you know something! Cheers, Ross Dr. Ross D.
