i ask you to look at it this way; play with the cards your dealt. so you buy the t3. does it have fi? for exampe, well say yes.are all fi parts there? and working properly? if not, can these parts be found/ordered/bought? at a price less than a set of new solex32s, weber 34s, or kadrons? if yes, then by god keep the fi!!!but,if you plan to install new/rebuilt engine of the higher performance type, carbs are good.as i understand(please correct me if wrong), the "D-Jet" fi MUST work in conjunction w/the stock camshaft. if your going to install something bigger like i did (1776 in my sqre.-NV says i dont have to smog because its a 67-ha ha) then this monster engine couldnt reach its full potential because its limited by the "Whimpie'' stock camshaft you kept, because you also wanted to keep the stock fi . i guess in a case like this it would depend on how much money you have. but would it make sense to use some monster 2180 with a stock cam, just so you can keep the fi?? once again that depends on your cash flow. what do you guys think? anything i missed/neglected? i have a 67 L7back. the engine failed, and i foolishly lost some pieces from the solex 32s. said ok just get web.34s. then opted for a 1776, because I COULD. the 34s would handle that . IF my car CAME with fi, then i wouldnt get the 1776 w/110 cam because fi wouldnt take it ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
