I just got some heavy-backed pile car carpet sheet (used for
diesels, so it soundproofs well) and cut it to fit (make a paper
pattern from wallpaper or similar).  A piece of kitchen style carpet
might do, but plain usually looks better, so a loop pile might be
the best you can do.  Edging looks better, but might push the price
up quite a bit (DIY opportunity?).
