Re: [T3] oops

John (and all),

Was your fastback the tan one with the screaming hand sticker on the
window? If so, I took a few pictures of your engine compartment just for
reference :-) That 68 fastback certainly was sweet...I saw the owner
shining it up before the judging. I didn't see any notches in the show
area, but there was a guy selling a late model notch (70) in the For Sale
section...somewhat rough, but definitely restorable.

We arrived at the show at 8:00am and immediately hit the parts area...saw
two sets of T-3 heat exchangers in good shape...one guy selling his pair
for $30, the other guy for $120 :-O I bought neither...just a set of
chrome knock-offs for the 8-spokes I picked up last week (now with new
Firestones)...a late model FI throttle positioner for $3, a t-stat w/ T-3
bracket and linkage for $1, and 16 brass enhaust nuts. My friend picked up
a nice OBerg oil filter for $8...the first guy said he couldn't let it got
for less than $40 (probably a reasonable price considering they're like
$190 new), but said to come back later and he might be more willing to
sell. When we went back the guy wasn't there...my friend offered $5, the
guy said $10 (obviously not realizing what the item was) and they settled
on $8. Not bad :-)

John, before the Hagerstown show can you drop the list a reminder? I may
want to be at that one, and there's the off chance that my fastback will be
on the road by them (yeah, right)...well, maybe I'll at least have the new
engine in the square.

Sorry grant and whoever else was going to Bug out. I misread my map and
the raod i mentioned was not the one i intended. plus i was about 15
mins behind schedule, so if anyone waited, I apolgise for missing te 8:30
time slot.
Grant, did u make the Bug out?
I was parked in the show area with soem impressive t-3's.
there were about six type-3's there: super clean 66 Square, for sale btw
for $15K,...yeah right. three fastbacks: mine and a sweet 68 green one
and the red 66 with the flames, both ultra clean. two notches, one super
clean driven only on sundays blue notch and one just in from germany, a 64.
the 64 is owned by Mike from colorado, now that was a find!
anyway it was a great show all around and totally hot, but worth it all.
so there is an Import car show next sunday at the Monrovia, MD 75-80
grounds, same place as the Bug-on, i will go to that, probably be the
only t-3 there unless we get some istees to bring their rides, gotta
cause a distraction from those Miatas that are bound to show up.
and week after, sunday the 20th in the peoples car club show in
Hagerstown and all vws are welcome so if im not too showed out, ill go to
that.
anyone wanting to go to either show, lets get a caravan together.
