I could at least mention our two Squarebacks to make this post somewhat 'legal' - The '71 green one is still sitting, awaiting disassembly, and the '71 beige one is just sitting waiting for one of us to hop in and drive it, but the '72 Bus and '82 Rabbit pickup have been the daily drivers for the last few weeks. However, this post isn't about those cars - it's about our smallest car, the 1957 or '58 BMW Isetta. It finally moved under it's own power for the first time since we bought it way back in 1993! I had to do some fumbling around with the gear shifter to find the gears. It's on the lefthand wall and first is down and back, 2nd down and forward, etc. Once you get used to it, it's pretty easy. Now, in case you don't know, it's powered (if you can call it that) by a single cylinder, 300cc air cooled engine, producing 13.5 bhp on a good day. I still need to get the lights working and do some other small jobs on it before I get tags and put it into semi-daily service, but getting it running certainly is a step in the right direction.
