Go easy on it for te first 1000 miles or so. Dont let the engine 
labour, rather downshift but don't over rev the thing.

A general inspection after 1000 miles should show up any defects.

Set it properly from the begining and keep an eye on it. It shouldn't 
move much.

The mixture should be set slightly rich while running in and set the 
valves at 0.15mm. Resat after 1000 miles.

That free-flow might cause the engine to run too lead and overheat, 
you may want to have a look at tour carb jetting.

Quite possible. Remove speedo, disassemble and reset the needle.
