I bought one of those, and promptly broke it trying to pull the hands 
off a VDO clock.  8-(

The strictly mechanical movements seem to run forever with a little 
lubrication and TLC, but I find that they keep rather poor time.  
Since the later movements seemed to work rather well when they were 
new, I have just wished that I could restore them.  It just seems 
like a worthy goal.
