I asked a few machine shops if they could weld material around the inlet but was warned against it because the carb material is a magnesium alloy, according to a few machinist. I thought it was just aluminum. They said that welding magnesium is extremely expensive to do properly and they jsut were not interested. The loctite fixed has worked so far after a few thousand miles. I am just extra careful and pull very gingerly on the fuel hoses.
