RE: [T3] Gear Oil Choices

Allen, I imagine the Pennzoil stuff would be fine. But you can get
Castrol "Hypoy C" 80-90 gear oil at BAP on Richmond Ave. (For what it's
worth, I read a recommendation in the Haynes manual to use Castrol
products) I just bought several quarts of the stuff last month but still
haven't gotten around to changing my old stuff out yet. It meets
MIL-L-2105 C and D. I figure these "C" and "D" specs must supersede the
"B" spec as I havent found anything that mentions the "B" spec on the
bottle.

... The Penzoil is the closest match. While the Bentley states it must
meet the MIL-L-2105B standard the Penzoil DOES state it meets the
MIL-L-2105D standard. Would this oil be compatible? Thinking in
military terms, I am
assuming that the 2105 standard has been revised twice and this
80W-90W oil should measure up. It still bugs me that the bottle DOESN'T
 say HYPOID.
