I actually spoke (emailed) with Gary LaVere about having the rear window on my Notch done.  He said that
they use a Type 1 seal.   I assume this works but I don't know the details.  So is it only the rear
window of a Notchback that can't be restored to the original condition?  At least not without a lot of
work and a chunk of cash...
