I was concerned about running the heat exchangers without cooling, but someone on the list pointed out that they had been doing it for years with no perceived ill effects. Yes, cooling the heat exchangers less should cool the engine more, but in most cases, there is no good reason to do this. Certainly not with a stock engine.
