I run a 73 system with a 69 pressure sensor on mine. 3 deg BTDC. Pinging.. likely at some point the heads were cut on reconditioning and the CR is too high. You can compensate by running better gas, ( I use 92 Oct min) and knocking back the timing, at 3BTDC I have plenty of power. You can richen the mixture too but without and analyser dont touch the pressure sensor and if someone has get a good virgin one and use it. You should get 20-22 MPG in town, in summer, and 27-29 on the highway, at 70, no wind, and not too hilly. If its not this then the mixture is wrong and if its too lean it will run hot and ping.
