I assume you're talking about the large flex tubes that go from the heater boxes to the thermostat housings on the body. Well, you aren't going to find a NOS set unless you're really lucky. Even the ones off wrecks are seldom worth saving. I've salvaged a couple of sets, they seldom last more than a few months, the cord that keeps them from unwinding rots out. So what I did was go looking for something that could replace it. If you've got a good auto parts place around they may have what I found, 2 3/8" metal flex pipe. It's used for exhaust pipe replacement where there's lots of bends. The first stuff I got was galvanized, that lasted about 5 years before it started getting rusty. I then got some stainless stuff from J.C. Whitney(my last choice in parts suppliers), that'll last longer than the car will. Both types are pretty stiff and take some care in cutting, an abrasive wheel saw is best, a hacksaw will work but leaves some nasty edges. You then have to expand and contract the piece to loosen it up and make it easier to bend when you're under the car. I picked up some of the regular VW clamps off a wreck, if those are gone, you'll have to make do with regular screw-type hose clamps. Undoubtedly, there's some plastic drier vent-type hose out there that might substitute, but I've never found any that would fit and I'm not sure how well it would stand up to the heat. The tubes I'm looking to replace are the paper\foil cool air ones that go from the fan extension tubes to the top of the thermostats. I was lucky enough to pick up a new set 10 years back, but it's time for replacements. Haven't found a substitute for those yet, nor the insulating blankets around those big flex tubes, either.
