If your '70 SQB has F.I you will have an A-type vacuum modulator. Inside is a 3mm(?) allen adjusting screw. Turning the set screw CW increases the primary throttle pressure and causes the gear changes to occur at higher speeds. Turning it CCW has the opposite effect . If you remove the hose and find any ATF running out of either the hose or the modulator, the modulator is faulty and should be replaced. When fitting a new modulator a pressure gauge must be connected to the primary throttle pressure test connection and the modulator must be adusted - with the engine running at idle and the transmission warmed up and in neutral - until the pressure is within spec.
