Hi all! Just wanted to brag a little about my new baby, the -73 squareback. Decided last sunday to go ahead with some conservatory work and pull off a oil spraying job as described by Keith Park (excellent advice, by the way!), to keep her in shape until a major restoration can be done. Having loosed the rear fenders at the bottom, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach when I bended them outwards and began looking for rust-o-rama with my torchlight. Was hardly no rust at all! Just two holes the size of a dollar were the rear wheelhouses meets the heat channel, and a tiny hole at the jackstand mount, on both sides. Then I have a little patch job waiting up in the right front fender, above the fuel cap pot. And of course that fender is bad, too. The other three fenders was in fairly good condition. Just some sandblasting here and there and they will do fine. After twentyeight years in coastal climat and well salted roads! Amazing... I had expected a lot more welding job! -God, I love this car! (can be seen at the PO:s page: http://www.plantphys.umu.se/~joanna/mine.html) Karl-Olov Sandin - happy as can be! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
