However, stock FI won't work reliably with anything but a stock setup. After-market FI systems cost around $1000 to $1500. >You should know a few things.... I don't really have access to a garage, I'm at school First, school comes first. Save your money as need be but complete school. Second, two weeks isn't enough time for a good paint and definitely too short of a time for building a big engine. Macco or some other quickie paint place can do your paint in three days but consider the job as a temporary one until you can afford the real thing. A good performance engine is expensive and is no place to cut corners. Cheap parts break and wear more quickly and in the end cost you more money and downtime. A good engine is gonna cost $2500 and higher. If you want better performance out of your stock engine then make sure it's in top condition. Keep valves adjusted, points gapped, no exhaust leaks, clean oil, etc. If you don't have a stock exhaust system then you can use an after-market one. Make sure all of the openings are smooth. Use a double Quiet Pak for the mufflers. Install electronic points as these will always keep the point gap perfect and it's one less maintenance item to fuss with. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
