I'd be interested to know how far from either Phoenix or San Antonio you are, as I'm looking to do a motor build for Deathrust's healthy Phoenician twin (Savannah Beige 71 square), Deathrich (referring to my rich condition, described below). Where are you/would it be cost effective to ship a motor to either of those two locations (or at least the case and crank, and I'll go at 'er from there)? Sadly, though, I'm on the road, and Deathrich is being vindictive; wanting of my attentions and the weekend 200-mile road trips just aren't good enough for her, so this weekend, with the rich condition getting worse despite my best efforts (which admittedly aren't enough; I fly in to Phoenix at 8 Friday night, and out 4 on Sunday eve), Deathrich and I pulled up to a stoplight in Mesa. The light went green, and I gassed it. She coughed once, and that was all she wrote. She'd thereafter fire up, but not idle; and the 'running' she did was chugging, snorting, and throwing off enough smoke that I could almost obscure the road. Two plugs were fouled so badly that I'm stunned it ran at all; coated with what could best be described as 'gank,' but unfortunately replacing the plugs made no noticeable difference. It (gads, I mean *SHE*) gets fuel in plenty, and appears to be getting spark (though in the complex parking lot with all of that fresh gas all over the engine I wasn't too brave checking for spark -- I know, check for spark *first*), so with the plane for TX taking off in the near future, I knuckled under, and for the first time since like 1988, I had my car (shudder) towed (*gasp*) to a VWGuru to have him sein out the problem while I travelled. I am covered in shame, but there didn't seem to be a reasonable alternative. I'll post the results of the examination as soon as I know. 8^( ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
