All sorts clean hardened oil off, but I wouldn't use oven cleaner as it attacks aluminium (not sure if it affects magnesium), and the heads are that for sure, and maybe the case alloy contains it too. Advice from RAMVA newsgroup suggested Bike shops would have good stuff for our light alloy engines. Methyl Chloride was also suggested. Dave.
